Show booking
Some advice for a successful show at Cal's
1. Promote your show.
Our capacity for the bar is 60-70 people. We usually book 3 bands every show, each band has on average 3-4 people in the band. Starting off the night there are already between 10-20 musicians in the bar which leaves room for another 40-50 people. Therefore, The breakdown is that each band should be able to bring 10-15 people to come and see them play. That is, each person in your band should be able to bring out at least 3 people. If your band isn't capable of bringing out at least 10 people on a weekend evening in the 3rd largest city in the country (also one of the best cities for live music) then buy a case of beer and invite your buddies to come watch you "Rock Out"in your crappy rehearsal space and don't waste my time.
2. Don't overbook your band.
Spread out your shows. At least give 2 weeks between shows.
3. No playing or jumping on the bar.
4. No pyrotechnics.
5. Don't annoy the bartenders or other patrons.
6. Don't be an asshole
